Mads' Story

Mads is a contemporary pop artist based in Pittsburgh, known for her bold, vibrant reimaginings of cultural icons and brands. Born in Venezuela, raised in Miami, and a New Yorker at heart, Mads uses art to challenge the systems that shape identity — from politics and religion to consumer culture and fame.

Working in acrylic, Posca, and spray paint on canvas, her layered portraits fuse nostalgia with sharp social commentary. Drawing from the legacy of pop art pioneers, Mads flips the script — integrating logos, luxury symbols, and cultural references with intention, using them as tools to expose the systems we’re told to obey.

At the core of her work is a personal mission: to take her power back — and inspire others to do the same. She paints not just to express, but to reclaim. Her collectors aren’t just collecting art — they’re witnessing a journey in real time. Each piece reflects her ongoing evolution and invites viewers to reflect on their own relationship with power, image, and legacy.

An Emmy-winning filmmaker turned full-time visual artist, Mads brings storytelling into every brushstroke. Her process is fueled by daily meditation and a commitment to raw honesty. Her work has been collected in New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania, and shown in group exhibitions across Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Mads’ work isn’t just seen — it’s felt. Loud, layered, and unfiltered, her art speaks to those ready to break from expectation and reclaim what’s theirs.
